In 2010 we were contracted by Sheik Mohammed to create a spectacular for the opening of The Meydan Horse Racing Stadium in Dubai. What else could we do but come up with an Arabian Falcon suspended below a helicopter. What started as "that's a good idea" grew to an 18m skeletal bird with the 1 km of aluminium tube lit by LED rope. The bird weighing in at 530kgs was test flown under one of our Hughes 500's at Dunkeswell UK to test its' stability in flight and to test the winch, which when run out made the bird appear to swoop showing its 2 ft long claws. This became the wow factor when later it was flown down the finishing straight in Dubai under a Bell412.
